The UpHer Room Announces Project 100 to Strengthen Workforce Pathways for Women in Nigeria

INDIANAPOLIS, IN — The UpHer Room Inc. has announced Project 100, a workforce development and economic mobility initiative designed to equip 100 women with employable skills, professional mentorship, and structured pathways to sustainable employment.

The initiative is expected to formally kick off in early 2027, following partnership development, pilot activity, and resource mobilization throughout 2026. Project 100 will begin with graduates from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), with a focus on strengthening the transition from academic achievement to workforce participation.

The first phase focuses on workforce training and skills development — including technical training in digital tools, analytics, life sciences, and project management — alongside professional development in CV writing, interview preparation, workplace readiness, and career positioning.

The second phase will focus on long-term employment and career pathways, including employer partnerships, apprenticeship opportunities, fellowship pathways, entrepreneurship and innovation support for select participants, and continued alumni tracking.

"At its core, Project 100 is about closing the gap between education and opportunity," said Dr. Benedicta Ajah. "There are women who have done the work academically, but are still navigating systems that do not provide clear or structured pathways into meaningful employment. This initiative is designed to change that in a way that is practical, collaborative, and scalable."

The initiative aims for at least 70 percent of participants to secure internships, apprenticeships, or employment opportunities.
