INDIANAPOLIS, IN — Dr. Benedicta Ajah, Founder and CEO of The UpHer Room Inc., has been selected as a Fellow for the 2025–2026 Truist Foundation Fellowship cohort.
The Truist Foundation Fellowship, powered by Watson Institute, is an intensive venture and leadership development program designed for impact-focused entrepreneurs, business owners, and nonprofit founders across the country. The fully funded program supports Fellows in becoming more financially sustainable and resilient while helping them move beyond product-market fit and begin to scale.
For The UpHer Room, Dr. Ajah's selection marks a significant milestone in the organization's continued growth as a Center of Excellence for Women of Influence. To date, the organization has engaged over 500 women and is expanding globally, with active initiatives underway in Nigeria.
"The Truist Foundation Fellowship has created space to think more deeply about the kind of infrastructure women need to move from potential to sustainable impact," said Dr. Ajah. "So many women are carrying vision, leadership, and solutions, but they often lack the structure, access, and collaborative environments needed to bring those ideas to scale. The UpHer Room exists to help close that gap."
The fellowship culminates with pitch opportunities at the 2025–2026 Truist Foundation Fellowship Summit — an in-person gathering in Atlanta on June 18 and a virtual summit on June 25.
Through the fellowship, Dr. Ajah is advancing The UpHer Room's work around women's leadership, economic opportunity, and strategic collaboration, including the continued development of Built for More.
